Hi we are looking for option to schedule downtime for hosts so that it will reflect for the concerned services. Since we have thousands of services and it would be difficult to configure downtime for each and every service.
Or
Schedule downtime for a host group which will be applicable to the services also.

Re: Schedule downtime
You can do both with a couple of clicks.
Create a hostgroup first which includes all the concerned hosts that will be in the downtime.
When it comes to scheduling the downtime:
Create a hostgroup first which includes all the concerned hosts that will be in the downtime.
When it comes to scheduling the downtime:
- Go to Home > Hostgroup Summary
Find the Hostgroup in the list
Click the second icon for the hostgroup (it will say View Hostgroup Commands when you hover over it)
You will be presented with a list of commands
Click Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup
Fill in the required fields and click Commit
Do the same for Schedule downtime for all services in this hostgroup
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
Re: Schedule downtime
Ideally there should be an option under Schedule downtime for hosts to include the services also instead of doing it twice.
This is the most typical usage.

Re: Schedule downtime
I can certainly put in a feature request for this if you'd like. While I'm at it, is there anything else you think would make sense to place in the scheduled downtime page as well?

Nice positive attitude from the Nagios team to start the day. Thanks.tmcdonald wrote:I can certainly put in a feature request for this if you'd like. While I'm at it, is there anything else you think would make sense to place in the scheduled downtime page as well?
See attached the screenshot for downtime scheduler that I really like.
1) The search function is priceless. One thing I really don't like about Nagios XI is the scrolling up and down in the CCM because there is no search/filter function in most areas like HostGroup, ServiceGroups etc.
2) The option to add by monitor or monitor groups in a single location
3) The enable disable function. Comes in handy for those system with unpredictable maintenance times. Create once and just enable disable as required.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Schedule downtime
It would be great if downtime scheduling can triggered to a hostgroup and it's associated services. If any bulk modification tool which can be mapped for scheduling downtime will also be great.tmcdonald wrote:I can certainly put in a feature request for this if you'd like. Re: Schedule downtime
You can already do this in bulk with the Mass Acknowledgement Component. You can currently schedule downtime for children hosts, as standard, triggered, and non-triggered. Are you looking to get a list of services you can select at once to schedule downtime across them from the Recurring Downtime component?
Re: Schedule downtime
In Mass Acknowledgement Component only the critical and warning services are reflected but i'm looking at all the list of services to schedule downtime.

Re: Schedule downtime
This already exists, from Hostgroup Summary click the "paper icon" labeled "View Hostgroup Commands" then choose "Schedule downtime for all services in this hostgroup"cyient wrote:It would be great if downtime scheduling can triggered to a hostgroup and it's associated services.
