Hello,
I noticed when I change the name of a service template, and click apply, I get configuration snapshot errors. I'm almost sure I was able to do this in pre-2014 version. When I edit the template and want an ok config, I need to open each dependent service and click ok again.
Is this a known issue?
Is there a way around this?

Re: Editing template names causes snapshot config errors
I'm unable to reproduce this on 2014 r1.1, I went into CCM > Service Templates > Changed the name of one of them > Saved > Applied configuration. This is what you did as well correct? Nothing else?
Re: Editing template names causes snapshot config errors
Yes, when I change the name of a template, the apply config results in a snapshot error. When I go to the services that use the edited template and clck on save for each of them, without editing any information, and then apply configuration, it works.

Do you have to click save on each and every one of them, or just at least one? We have some fixes we are preparing for the next release pertaining to the apply config changes and a few bugs that were introduced with the change. Try to just save one of the services and then let me know if that solves the issue.

Re: Editing template names causes snapshot config errors
Andy,
I need to save each service that uses the template which name was edited. If a template is used by 20 services, I would need to save each one of those services.

Andy,
In the meantime I found a faster way to change template names. Instead of having to save each one of them, I can search in the CCM -> Services for all services that use the template, then select them all, choose deactivate from the dropdownbox, next choose activate and then apply, which will work.
It would still be nice if there was a better solution though.

I posted an internal bug report (TASK ID 3229). This should be fixed in the next revision of XI.It would still be nice if there was a better solution though.
