Monitoring Wizard unable to discover ports on a router

Post by psp »

This is the error the monitoring wizard posts:

Code: Select all

========
Bandwidth and Port Status
 No ports were detected on the switch. Possible reasons for this include:
The switch is currently down
The switch does not exist at the address you specified
SNMP support on the switch is disabled

 Troubleshooting Tip:
If you keep experiencing problems with the switch wizard scan, login to the Nagios XI server as the root user and execute the following command:

/usr/bin/cfgmaker --show-op-down --noreversedns --zero-speed '100000000' '[email protected]:::::1'

========
I ran this command as root, and here is the output. The output clearly indicates ports have been discovered. Please help!

Re: Monitoring Wizard unable to discover ports on a router

Let's get the big stuff out of the way:

1.) What Nagios XI version are you using?
2.) What OS and version?
3.) Under Admin -> Manage Config Wizards, what version is listed for the Switch / Router Wizard?
4.) Are you 100% sure that the IP is correct and the device is on?
5.) Are you using the correct SNMP version and string?
6.) Is SNMP in fact enabled and supported on the device?

1) 2014R1.1
2) CentOS 6.5
3) Version: 2.0.1
4) Yes; SNMP walk works. See command line output in my original post.
5) Yes
6) Yes. See output of /usr/bin/cfgmaker --show-op-down --noreversedns --zero-speed '100000000' '[email protected]:::::1' that I have shown in my last post.

It looks like you are running an older version of the wizard. We just release R1.2 of XI today which will have the latest version, 2.1.2

I have upgraded NagiosXI from R1.1 to R1.2, however, the wizard is still running version 2.0.1, not 2.1.2. Do I have to do something special to upgrade just the wizard? I followed the NagiosXI upgrade process.

I had the same problem. Download the latest version of the wizard from here:
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... rd/details

Then upload it via Admin > Manage Config Wizards
