Email/Text Notifcations

We have set up our XI install with Multi-Tenancy and I'm having some difficulty getting the alerts to go out in either email or by email->text. I've followed the instructions to the XI_Multi-Tenancy document to the letter but to no avail.

Incidentally, I've logged in as the user to be notified and updated the settings to reflect "where" it should go. What else did I miss?

Most likely your user doesn't have notifications enabled at all. Take a look under the user's preferences pages, on "Notification Preferences" and "Notification Methods", making sure to select the desired options for all of "Enable Notifications", "Notification Types", "Receive alerts via email", and "Receive text alerts to your cellphone".

As it turned out, I did have all of that enabled. I decided to restart Nagios whole-cloth and lo and behold, it began to work.
