Best Practice services to monitor Hyper-V

Post by hd1912 »

We are setting up a new Hyper-V server. What are your best practices services to monitor? We only have a few Hyper V servers deployed and they are not being monitored yet. These are new to production with little to no traffic yet. Thanks!!! :D

I can't really speak to the "best practices" (they seem to be different based on who you ask) but I can ask what specifically is important for you to monitor. Are you looking to monitor the Hyper-V host, the guests, or both? Is the CPU usage important? How about memory? Network traffic? Do you need to know how many of them are down? Knowing what is important to you will help us out.

Additionally, here are some plugins you might try, if you have not already.
