I would *strongly* recommend updating to a modern version of XI if this is possible. The latest is 2014r1.2 and there have been countless changes and improvements since 2011r2.1

Let us know if this is an option for you.

You are using an older version of XI, that's why you have four buttons. That's OK - click on each button (top-down):

Write monitoring data
Write additional data
Check configuration files

and examine the output for errors (warnings are OK). If you don't have any errors, Apply Configuration. Let us know if this fixed your problem.

While I ran Check configuration file option got the below error

Error: Could not find any host matching 'XXXXX' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg', starting on line 237)
Error: Could not expand members specified in hostgroup (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg', starting on line 237)
Error processing object config files!

N.B: XXXXX is a old host which has been decommissioned already
Post to that I have applied the configuration as well
Applying Configuration

Command submitted for processing...
Waiting for configuration verification.....................................................
Configurations failed to write to file.
An error occurred while attempting to apply your configuration to Nagios Core. Monitoring engine configuration files have been rolled back to their last known good checkpoint.

Applying configuration always gives me above error. However I have checked again the CCM has the host Synched and active but it doesn't show in the monitoring console. The error I got while searching the host is "No matching services found - showing matching hosts instead."

It looks like there is a problem with a hostgroup you have created.

Try editing and saving one of your hostgroups AND then try the Check configuration file.

You can also try disabling a hostgroup and then apply config. Repeat until you find the problematic hostgroup.

There is windows service which needs to be monitored for a particular host.
We used to monitor the same before. Currently there is a change in the host, the service has been hosted on a different host.I have done the changes in core config manager, but still unable to see the service name under the host in the host status console of Nagios.

When you made the changes in CCM, did you change the host the service was applied to?

When you are editing a service, you click the Manage Hosts button. Make sure the new host is in the assigned list.

Yes I have done that.
I have put the host under the specific service group.
Even I can see the CPU and Memory and drive usage under the home console but that service is not getting listed in console.
