Auto-Discovery Wizard crashing

Post by mholtaftac »

The Auto-Discovery wizard seems to be causing NAGIOS XI to lock up and acts like a crash, the web page itself crashes. The wizard finds lots of devices during the discovery process, just won't walk through the process of adding new host to monitor.

Can you walk us through the steps you take, including when it fails?

Does it show any errors, or does the page just hang? Screenshots are helpful.

Problem solved.... I started typing out everything I'm doing step by step and decided to select all defaults under the "Auto-Discovery Monitoring Wizard - Step 2"
That's when I realized my problem, DNS isn't working for selecting "DNS" instead of "IP ADDRESS" for host name was causing the system to crash. Now this might be bug of some sort? But for now, I can at least add host via IP instead of DNS name.

Can the nagios server resolve the hosts by name? You may not have dns configured correctly on your network. Although this could technically be considered a bug as the wizard should not crash but warn you when this happens.
