Hi,
I am running into a problem where I have about 10 users set up, and yet I am the only one is receiving emails.
I have looked through the logs and such and nothing comes to mind.
for example:
Service template has mine and 3 other emails in it. when an even is triggered I am the only one who gets the emails.
All the users have been setup the same way, through the user manager screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
Email notification
Re: Email notification
Check /var/log/maillog for references to the emails that are not receiving notifications. It is possible they are being bounced back for some reason. Are they all at the same domain name?
Can you log in as the non-working users and send a test email by going to Admin -> Manage Email Settings -> Send A Test Email?

Re: Email notification
Hi,
Sending from Admin works. I am checking through the log and dont see any errors. I scanned through most of the logs for errors and dont see anything that can pin point.
(our team went through nagios training and the instructor took a look at this issue. He recommended that we ask for help here as everything looks right)

Re: Email notification
Hope I don't muddy things up here, but when I set my notifications up, I had to check in three places.
When creating the user, I had to make sure the Create as Monitoring Contact was checked. (That's the default) Then I had to make sure each user was assigned as a contact for given hosts and services, then the user had to check to make sure notifications were enabled in their user account, their notification method (either email or text) and time schedule.
I still find the hierarchy a bit confusing since you can set alert types at the service/host level, and the contact level. Not sure which overrides which.
Just curious, when you create a User Account, there is a check box to send an email to the new user. Do they get that email??

Re: Email notification
Troubleshooting notifications could be quite a task because there are so many variables involved. I would recommend following the steps, outlined in the "Nagios XI – Configuring Email Notifications" document:

If you are still having issues, please, open a support ticket in our system by sending us an email at [email protected]. We may need to schedule a remote session - it would be easier to troubleshoot the issue.
