Latest VMWare release CPU loaded

Hi,

I have just dowloaded the latest XI Demo VM image from the Nagios site and installed this as a VMWare machine on VMWare Server on 32-bit server.

After getting around the HTTP problem by editing the conf file to point to a valid folder for the logs, I have managed to get NagiosXI running. However, CPU is hitting 98% utilisation and 85% is down to system ??

'top' doesn't really tell me anything so can anyone advise please?

Can you show us your top -c output? How many checks are you trying to run? How much RAM do you have allocated to the VM?

Hi,

The installation is straight out of the box so it's got the default config only (5 hosts I believe) - other than 'fixing' HTTP, I have done nothing yet.

Allocated memory is 768MB (430MB used) and 'top -c' is...

I'm having the http folder issue also, how did you fix it?

To fix the HTTP issue...

Modify the line containing "/logs/error.log" to (for example) "/var/log/httpd/error.log" in "/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf" - you will need to create "/var/log/httpd"

This is a crude work-around though and there seem to be underlying problems with this build - it did allow me to start everything up though.

We're aware of the issues in the latest VM, we're working on a rebuild for it.
