Adding VMware Monitoring Wizard

Post by bhaliti »

Hi
I'm pretty new to Nagios and had a couple of questions.
After downloading the ovf and setting everything up I tried to add the esxi host to monitor and it failed verification. I have snmp and ssh enabled on both the localhost (nagios) and also the esxi server. Where are the error logs? or what do I need to set up prior to this? I set the permissions and ran those scripts from documentation and also installed sdk etc.
What does nagios use to communicate with the server? Is it an agent that I need to install or what?

If anyone has a good document or knows of the issue I'm having I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks

You can find the steps to get this running in:
  • Help
    Administrator Guide
Under Monitoring Configuration click Monitoring VMware
This will give you a link to "Monitoring VMware with Nagios XI" which will guide you through the steps.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
