Unviewable host and service group dashlets

Post by hhlodge »

I initially I posted this thread over on the General Support forum ("One particular host renders hostgroup unviewable in XI") for a host group that would not render viewable in the browser. Now today, the same behavior has spread to a service group as well. The particular service group recently infected was always viewable and I've not changed it a bit. So something very odd is occuring and I haven't a clue what to chase down. Below is a screen shot showing the spinning icon that never times out. Here's the pertinent HW/SW info. So views and dashboards are fairly useless with this issue.

CentOS 5.5 64-bit
HP DL365 G5
XI 2011R1.3 manual install with objects:
Hypermap
Object Notes
Ping Action

Can you manually run the check for the particular problem host or service and show us the plugin output? Also, are you able to access the host/service details for the ones causing the issue?

I am still trying to pin down which host/services they are. If it helps, contrary to what I said on the other forum, I can now see all in the hostgroup and servicegroup grids if I enable the unified screens in the Performance Settings.

Went to dig into this further and today all host and service groups are viewable, even with unified screens off, and I didn't touch a thing with any of the problematic groups! This will make solving this very difficult.

Ugh. Ok. If it shows up again, keep an eye on the plugin output for checks in the problem groups, I'm wondering if the problem lies there.

Today the hostgroup dashlet is unviewable. I removed all the hosts that were ever suspect of causing the issue and it remains unviewable, so I don't know what to do to narrrow it down for troubleshooting. It seems to be a moving target. Time for a call to support?

Today I came to work, opened my browser, went to the Home page and all dashlets were viewable. Then I upgrade to 2011R1.4, log on, Hostgroup just spins. Arrggg...

Can you send us the plugin output for any of these hosts? This could have a relationship to the following bug.
