Can we disable the emails that go out when a scheduled downtime starts and stops? It just seems counterproductive to enter a scheduled downtime and disable alerting for say a 2:00am system upgrade, and then have everyone get notified that they won't get alerted for the next two hours, and then wake everyone up again at 4:00am when the downtime period is over and the system is back online as scheduled.
Thanks,
Suppress Downtime Notification?
Re: Suppress Downtime Notification?
On the user's contact preferences they can disable notifications regarding downtimes.
Click their name in the upper right, then click on Notification Preferences.
You can also set this on a service and host basis on the Alert Settings tab by unchecking the "s" box. This is probably being inherited by templates, so find the root template and uncheck it there.

Re: Suppress Downtime Notification?
In addition to what Bandit said there's also an option for that under Admin > Notification Management > Notification options if you want to disable these notifications for everyone. I learned that the hard way, too lol.
Re: Suppress Downtime Notification?
Excellent information. I was looking for downtime options when I should have (duh!) been looking at the Notification options.
Thanks much, that will do the trick nicely.
