Best plugins for virtual environments?

Post by BanditBBS »

Just wanting opinions....

1.) VMWare - Is Box293's plugin the current best for monitoring? (I know your answer already Box, LOL)

2.) OVM - Anyone find any great plugins for monitoring OVM?

Thanks!

Actually, I'd highly suggest Box's plugin as well :D. It has worked great every time I've had the need to test it out for a feature, plus the documentation is second to none.

As far as OVM, this seems like the plugin with the highest regard that I could find:

I've only used 2 VMware plugins, but Box's is the best of the 2. We recently switched to it and I haven't had any reason to look for another one.

Gonna throw my hat into the ring for Box as well. As for OVM, can't really say I have a favorite.

I've got a Nagios XI wizard for it currently in the pipeline ... it'll knock your socks off! 8-)

FYI I uploaded a new version of it yesterday to the Nagios Exchange.

Ok, looks like everyone agrees Box293's plugin is best for VMWare. Wishing I could find something other than that one for OVM, will keep searching the web a bit more on that one.

If you find one other than the (one) on the exchange let us know and we can probably throw it up there!
