Nagios running, web interface/authentication issue

Post by xpac »

I have Nagios running successfully on CentOS 6.3 after following the quick start guide, including the web interface configuration. I can log into the web interface with IE just fine, it asks me for the nagiosadmin password and I'm in as expected.

However, with Firefox it asked me for that info one time, and now everytime I open a new Firefox browser session and go to the Nagios web interface it lets me in without asking any authentication whatsoever :o Wondering if this is just something simple I missed in the configuration, or whether I did something in FIrefox that allows me to bypass the basic authentication - I'm in the testing phase right now (on a CentOS VM) and don't normally use Firefox all that much so its very possible I did something in Firefox to bork up the authentication.

Basic Auth saves your session to a cookie. You will need to clear the browser cache in order to force a login prompt. I would presume your copy of IE is set to flush the cache every so often.
