Hi,
I have added a switch to be monitored using the config wizard, but it doesn't appear to be sending any port bandwidth statistics back*.
The initial port scan during the wizard pulled back all the switch port config and the config committed ok, subsequent polling checks show that the ports that are active are active and those that aren't, aren't.
*ok, so in testing we generated some traffic and we saw traffic on one of the internal ports (in/out), but on the external port which should of been a mirror image there was nothing recorded for the same period. (we tested by downloaded a CentOS ISO, so the switch should of returned traffic on two ports, both the internal and external link on one of our firewalls).
Aside from SNMP (which we have appeared to have configured correctly by virtue that we are getting a response at all) do we need to configure any other options on the switch for us to be able to poll for stats (or for it to even keep a track of them?)
The switch in question is a CISCO 3560.
Cheers,

Re: Switch being monitoring not returning any data
How long did you give the switch configuration in XI before trying this test? It can take around 15 minutes (standard 5 min check interval) to generate the RRD files which are read for the service output in XI.
Re: Switch being monitoring not returning any data
Hi,
We noticed pretty much within 20 minutes that all the bandwidth on all ports seemed to be nominally zero. Then when we did a test by shunting some data though a known pathway that one port did show traffic and its mirrored opposite still showed nothing.
I will get our network engineer to recheck that ports stats are enabled (assuming it needs to be enabled) on all ports.

Kiwi, did you get any feedback from your network team?
