i have Nagios R20141.0 and I need to upgrade to R20141.4, please does the is the newest release stable, and how many time the upgrade will take?
also I need to stop notification during the upgrade.

Yes, the latest release is stable. The amount of time it takes can very greatly from system to system. Generally we recommend you plan for at least 10-15 minutes, less if you are upgrading from a version very close to the one you are moving to. To disable notifications, navigate to Admin > Monitoring Engine Status > Click the X next to Notifications.
