Unable to remove contactgroup from contact

I'm trying to add my contacts to groups by editing the contactgroup and adding the contact there. I have a contact that was setup the opposite way, the contactgroup was added to the contact. When I go into CCM to edit the contact and try to remove the contactgroup I save the change and apply the config, but when I look at the contact again the group is still there. Any ideas?

Are you getting errors while you apply configuration that may be restoring an old snapshot where the contact is still present? To be sure, you are going to the contact, opening Contact Groups, removing the contact group from the right hand side, and saving the configuration, then applying config? Are there any dependency errors on the top of the CCM when you save this contact config? If you save it, and then go to the contact group, can you add the contact now? Or is it sill greyed out? Try using the Write Configs tool instead of applying config after making these changes, CCM > Tools > Write Configs Tool > Write/Verify/Restart.

I think I worked it out...but to answer you questions. No sir, I was not getting any Relationship dependency errors when applying the config.

I went into the contact, opened the contactgroups ("Manage Contact Groups" button) and clicked the "X" next to the name I want to delete. It removes the name (in this case it was the only name), I save it and apply the config. The Config applys successfully, no errors. But when I go back in to the contact the group is still there.

However, If i go in to the contact as before and "Manage Contact Groups"...If I hit the "Remove All" button at the top, save it and apply config it works. I've run into the exact same issue when editing contactgroups. If I want to remove a contact from a group, I have to "Remove All", save it and go back in to re-add any contacts I want left in. So in order to remove one contact, I have to remove them all. In this case there were only 4 contacts in the group so it wasn't a hugh issue. This time.

What version of XI is this on? I'd like to try and replicate this on our end, but I'm on a developer revision and it seems to not be an issue.

What is the Nagios XI version that you are currently using? I as not able to recreate the issue in Nagios XI 2014R1.4.

I'm currently on 2012R1.2 so this issue may have been resolved in later versions. I am planning an upgrade to most current Enterprise edition around the end of the month.

Yea, that is quite old. I would definitely upgrade, both for this fix and for the multitude of improvements made since then.
