Host and service Escalations

Hi,

In the config manager: there is a Host and service Escalations.

Does this mean there are 2 levels of Escalations? i.e. Nagios will send out a email alert to a specfic contact, then after so many alerts, Nagios will send another email alert to another email contact?

or does it mean:

Nagios will only send out alerts after so many notifications alerts?

Not two levels - two types of objects. They're just separately configurable escalations for whether you're dealing with a host or a service.
