nagios vs bmc patrol agent

there is any nagios agent that emulates the behavior that bmc patrol agents, able to store / retrieve data locally before outages with the server?
There are agents who act in active / passive mode?

I'm sure it could be scripted though, as you can create a plugin script in just about any language. There is no agent that does server maintenance stuff for you, the main job of Nagios is monitoring.
