nagios service

I have a nagios service which detects total memory free and alarms if it gets too low.

In the service definition it provides arguments to the check_command of $_MUMBLE_THIS
and $_MUMBLE_THAT...

Where are these variables coming from? They are the parameters for the check_command
to decide whether the memory is at an alarm stage.

I don't see them defined anywhere.

Could you point out where you found this plugin, and we can take a look to see if we can make sense of it?
