Ok,
changing the check_xi_service_nsclient command from:
$USER1$/check_nt -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -s "$ARG1$" -p $ARG5$ -v $ARG2$ $ARG3$ $ARG4$
to
$USER1$/check_nt -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -s "$ARG1$" -p 12489 -v $ARG2$ $ARG3$ $ARG4$
seems to fix it

Re: 2011R1.4 - Modified command
Thanks for the input on how to get it working, while we will still patch it, this will be handy for people in the meantime.

Re: 2011R1.4 - Modified command
Update your wizard (http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... rd/details) now and it should be fine. (Note: You may need to manually run the "Apply Configuration" from within the Core Config Manager after installing the wizard for the changes to take effect.)
Re: 2011R1.4 - Modified command
sadly, restarting nagios resets the -p 12489 to "-p $ARG5$
Re: 2011R1.4 - Modified command
tyarusso, the windows desktop issue doesn't solve my problem
I am not using the wizard to create my windows hosts and none of my windows hosts are desktops. The are all servers. please advise

Re: 2011R1.4 - Modified command
alright, I fussed w/ it some more and for the moment "-p 12489" appears to be sticking between nagios restarts
hopefully it continues to stick
Guys, I love nagios but this upgrade could have gone a lot smoother
