Hi,
Is there any plugin to monitor cluster device in nagios core?
Cluster Server Monitoring
Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
It all depends on exactly what you want to monitor, but our Exchange has tons of plugins you can take a look at:

Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
in our environment we have virtual primary network device and virtual secondary network device , at any point of time one device will be up. So any plugoin to monitor this?
Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Is this a true "cluster" as in you are using a clustering solution to manage it? Or do you just need to make sure at least one network device of the two is up? Those are two different things that will require different approaches.

Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Could you please let me know the solution for these 2 different things.
Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Well, we need to narrow your request down a bit.
What type of cluster are you looking to monitor? (linux HA, shared storage, database clusters, etc) (be specific)
Which clustered services?
What mechanisms/agents are most desirable to use in your environment?
Is this cluster using a virtual ip for specific services?

Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Primary and Secondary firewalls are configured on HA PAIR ( clustering ) , At any point of time only master(primary ) will be up . At present in nagios we have configured Primary Firewall monitoring , suggest how we can monitor secondary device once switch over happens?
Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Is the cluster accessible through a virtual ip? If so, just monitor the vip and which ever one is active will be the target.

Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
yes , cluster is monitored over virtual IP , if we configure all monitoring services for virtual IP will that work fine ? please suggest
Re: Cluster Server Monitoring
Yes, as long as the credentials/commands are the same between the two servers, checking the virtual ip is the suggested method.
