Custom Host Group Status

Post by rajasegar »

Nagios XI 2014R1.2

Please advice how to define specific hostgroup for Host Group Status?
Currently it shows all the hostgroups. We only want to show a few of them in a new dashboard.

Second question, how to define the following dashboard for a few specific host groups?
Right now it shows all hosts and services.

I don't believe this functionality is currently available in XI. You are welcome to post a feature request on our public tracker.

I posted an internal feature request (TASK ID 4154). It may take a very long time to implement this (if ever) as bugs have a higher proiority than feature requests. If you want this to be implemented faster, you could contact our sales team at [email protected] and request a quote for custom development.

This is already default behavior if you click the "View Hostgroup Service Details" icon from the hostgroup or servicegroup status pages for a particular hostgroup or servicegroup

Then you can add the new Host/Service Status Summary to a dashboard

Thanks, this works for the second request.
How do we change the heading to something else? We will be putting a few of them and since all have the same heading it will be confusing.
Right now it is showing Host Status Summary & Service Status Summary

You can change the dashlet title, while adding it to the dashboard. It will still show "Host/Service Status Summary", but you could have other, more descriptive, text above it. For example:
