HP Procurve

Morning,

I am currently testing Nagios XI Standard with full intention to purchase. However I have been running into a problem where the I can't get HP Procurves to connect. The standard SNMP option in the wizard will allow me to see port status about bandwidth and port status. But want I really want is status about fan and CPU.

I have tried to add ons on the Nagios site. But every time I load them my Nagios box goes mental. The Monitoring Engine stops and the checks don't work anyway.

Can anyone provide me some how-to's or guidance. This is kind of a deal breaker for whether I buy or not.

It's likely that there were errors in your configuration files stopping nagios from restarting. Do you have the OIDs for the metrics you are looking to check? You could use the SNMP walk, or SNMP wizard to check them directly, have you given that a shot yet? Just use the same host address and it will add your new services under your existing Procurve hosts.
