Dashboard refresh and interval

Post by WillemDH »

Hello,

As we are doing stress tests on our LAMP stack today, I made a nice dashboard with a timeperiod of 24 hours. with some information to use during the stresstests. I noticed the dashlets, which all come from the multistacked graph explorer, do not seem to refresh automatically? Is this normal? I tried looking through the performance settings, but did not immediately found what I was looking for. So I used a plugin for Firefox, 'reload every' , which reloads the page automatically.
I also noticed the graphs only have new information every 5 minutes. This while I set the check interval for a limited time during the stress test for all servers in the stack to 1 minute instead of the default 5.

So now the question: Is it possible to make the dashlets, added from the multistacked graph explorer, on the dashboard refresh automatically every 1 minute and display new information every 1 minute instead of every 5 minutes?

Should I make a feature request for this? (if it is not already possible) I noticed the information interval on the graphs is higher in the sevrice detail performance tab, but it is not possible there to stack graphs...

Grtz

Willem

Ok, the stresstests are over and succesfull. In the meantime I noticed the dashlets do seem to update themselves. The problem is that the dashlets added from the Graph Explorer are less accurate then these added from the service overview performance tab. I'm guessing that is why the dashlets from the graph explorer only update once every 5 minutes. The ones added from the service detail performance tab are updating every minute.

So I think my feature request should be to add a last 4 hours timeperiod to graph explorer which adds dashlets that update every minute. Or maybe add a check box or dropdown list that can configure the dashlets refresh interval..? Thoughts?

That feature request sounds reasonable to me, I think the best option would be to add an option when configuring the dashlet, to set the refresh interval in minutes. What do you think of that idea?

Thanks Sam,

I made two feature requests (as they seem different for me) and the option 'last 4 hours' is at this time not possible with the multistacked performance graph.
