Offloading
Offloading
I'm going to finally get around to offloading the mysql. I figure what the heck, may as well offload ndo2db as well. Did the document for doing that ever get released?

Re: Offloading
There is a document that describes the process of offloading (includes ndo2db):

Re: Offloading
Fully aware of that doc, it is what I will be using for offloading the DB.
However, it is not the document for offloading ndo2db. It only mentions the changes needed to ndo2db because of the mysql change. There was talk of a document for the actual offloading of ndo2db mentioned at the conference and I was wonder if it was done yet.

Re: Offloading
It's not completed yet, I believe I may have seen Abrist working on it. He's out today, but we can ask him tomorrow once he is in. The steps are all laid out, it's just not in one clear concise document yet.

Re: Offloading
I am looking to do this as well. Would like to do it in one shot.
Look forward to how this turns out.

As luck would have it, Andy is still sick but we will be calling/emailing some time today to keep him updated. I'll make a note to ask him about this, see if he can provide a response.

Wait, that's multiple people at Nagios that are sick that I know of....what are you people doing there!!tmcdonald wrote:As luck would have it, Andy is still sick but we will be calling/emailing some time today to keep him updated. I'll even take "unpolished" docs if they have all the steps. When I offload mysql I would really love to offload ndo2db at the same time. Tell Andy I said PUHHH-LEEEEAZZE!

Re: Offloading
I am aware of the current state of this. Andy has a copy of my notes regarding needed steps for this. There is one minor technicality regarding XI's reading of whether ndo is running or not, as the same checks cannot be made. It doesn't impact anything aside from visually. Aside from that, it's very straightforward and should be in a labs post and document very shortly!
