Any way to mass update service event contacts?

Post by codeslinger »

I'm a Nagios XI newb and have setup several services with Alert Settings/Contacts set to my user Contact and now need to expand the alerts to more users besides me. Is there an easy way to update all my services to point to a new Contact "Group" that I setup, and not just my contact, w/o editing every service Alert Settings Contacts and Contact Groups values? Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,
This can be performed using the Bulk Modifications tool.

CCM
Tools
Bulk Modifications

NOTE: This is a part of the Enterprise Edition license. If you did not purchase this then you can activate the trial which will let you use the tool and get a taste of it's power
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

I am using the free license right now and I'd guess that is the Standard Edition not the Enterprise Edition as the Tools/Bulk Modifications menu invites me to buy EE.
Is there a config file I can edit, and have Nagios XI import or somehow sync with it?

Well, there is not a really easy work-around, you can enable the enterprise edition features for 60 days to try them out, or use them to assist you.
