I am working with a company that is doing replication of their Nagios server with VMWare. One of the issues they have discussed as a request is a way that the replicated server boot to only performing network checks initially. The reasoning behind this is that any failover will mean that many checks are late in being performed so the queue will be large. In an environment of 30,000 to 50,000 checks this means that eyes onto the network problems will be obscured by other issues, possbibly delaying critical decisions.
Here is what we are trying to figure out:
1. Failover server initially only executes network checks
2. Once network checks have all been performed start server checks
Any ideas?

Umm, I guess this could be done with dependencies, but it would be ugly.
You could only enable the host checks and then five minutes later enable service checks . . .
Lets see if someone else has any ideas. . .
