Passive checks in Nagios XI

Post by nmudie1978 »

Guys,

I have NagiosXI installed, which by definition means I have Nagios 4 running.

When I send passive alarms to my NagiosXI machine (using NSCA) I can only see the alarms in Nagios 4.0 GUI, not in the NagiosXI gui.

Any idea why this happens? Scratching my head on this one... and am wondering if its because I have an unlicensed version of NagiosXI

Thanks,
Nick

Is your copy of XI in trial mode? Trial mode should have all capabilities of the full version. If trial mode has expired (after 60 days), you are limited to 7 hosts.

Thanks. Yes its in trial mode for the next weeks.

..however, I found out the reason in that i had disabled the NDOutils broker and had mklivestatus broker running only. When I enabled them both then (and only then) could I see my passive checks in NagiosXI and Nagios.

Thanks,
Nick

Awesome, yeah mklivestatus does not play nice with NDO, or core 4 right now. Thanks for letting us know what resolved this for you.
