Flap detection off but not obeying

Post by BanditBBS »

I have flap detection off on a few services but some are not obeying the setting. Looking in the cfg file you cna clearly see it is set to 0 and in the attached image but it is still marked as flapping:

Core seems to be obeying, but not XI if I am readin this properly:

Ok, pretty sure this is a bug I found!

When I had disabled flap detection on that service a while ago it was already in a flapping state. XI didn't remove the flapping state from it since I turned flap detection off. I turned flap detection back on for a moment and instantly it left being detected as flapping. I then re-disabled flap detection. That make sense to you?

Edit: I just tested that theory of mine didn't repeat. Two services I disabled flap detection instantly stopped showing as flapping when I applied changes. Maybe it was just a fluke with that one service

I think this post might be related:

The solution was to delete the retention file and restart nagios:

Thanks for that. I tried to reproduce the issue a few more times and could not. So must have just been a fluke. Not concerned about it anymore until it happens again :)

Feel free to lock her up!
