Nagios XI 2014R1.2
Is there a way to hide some of the host group from being shown in the Host Group Overview.
I recall this can be done in Nagios Core.
Thanks

Re: Hide Some Host Groups
Interesting. My hostgroup overview takes 20+ seconds to load.. At the moment I have 116 hostgroups. If we could exclude some hostgroups, maybe the load time was better..

Same here, most of them are for internal use like notifications, grouping which the users don't want to see.WillemDH wrote:Interesting. My hostgroup overview takes 20+ seconds to load.. At the moment I have 116 hostgroups. If we could exclude some hostgroups, maybe the load time was better..

I do not believe so, though you could make a dashboard that only shows the hostgroups you care about.rajasegar wrote:Is there a way to hide some of the host group from being shown in the Host Group Overview.

As Andy said: "...you could make a dashboard that only shows the hostgroups you care about." You can deploy dashboards to a number of users via the "Dashboard Deployment Tool".Any workarounds we can try?

Re: Hide Some Host Groups
Hey Ludmill and Andy,
Yes we can make dashboards with hostgroups on it. But... => We really could use some way to group hosts and services more easily on the fly. Editing hostgroups is imho too much clicks. I think Nagios XI should offer easier ways to group hosts and services. That's why I made a new feature request. The trackers seems offline atm, I'll post the tracker id and link later. It should be a feature to somehow add hosts or services to a list of favourites. This list could then be accessible from the homepage somewhere beneath all service problems and all hosts problems, called something like Favourite Services ans Favourite Hosts. These favourites should be saved per user and users should also be enabled to add and remove hosts and services themselves. If this could all be done without a Nagios apply configuration, it would be perfect. Just tell me if I'm dreaming by the way...
Also imho the hostgroups overview pages taking more then 20 seconds to load is really too long. It is unusable. I know that these loading times come from the great amount of hostgroups I'm using, but to be honest, we need even more hostgroups. Can you imagine having to use something that loads for more then 30 seconds?

Fair enough. I believe the tracker is up now. You can post a link to your feature request anytime you want.
