Can anyone tell me what is the standard hardware specification that Nagios requires.

It depends on how many hosts or services you are going to monitor. Our *general* guidelines are:

Make sure the server you install Nagios XI on meets the requirements below.

Server OS:

32-bit RHEL 5.x or CentOS 5.x

Minimum system specs:

1 GHz Processor
512 MB RAM
8 GB HD

Recommended system specs:

2+ GHz Processor
2 GB RAM
40 GB HD
RAID 5 Drive Configuration

i am using rhel 4.5 version is nagiosxi not compatiable with this version ?

We don't support RHEL 4.5. You may try installing Nagios XI, but most probably you will be having lots of issues and you will be on your own, so I wouldn't recommend it.

as long as it connects to RHN, installation of Nagios XI will be good
