Hi,
I am new to Nagios XI and was looking into customising a dashboard/view with different Dashlets. Have noticed that as soon as it's all set up and alerts appear then the Dashlets populate the information as expected but then overlap. So instead of a dashlet dropping down to fit nicely it simply stays where it is and is a convoluted mess.
We are running Nagios XI version 2.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Dashlets Overlapping
Having a bit of trouble picturing what dashlet this is, can you attach a screenshot? They should retain their iframe size, and also snap into place, by XI version 2, I assume you mean XI 2014 r2.0?as soon as it's all set up and alerts appear then the Dashlets populate the information as expected but then overlap.

Can you show us a screenshot of the error?

Hi thanks for the reply, please find attached a screenshot referring to what I mean.
Basically I created the Dashboard, and was hoping to have a view to put onto a monitor. However when created the inital view looks fine, but if an alert is created it appears but the Dashboards don't drop lower to make space for the alert thus resulting in Dashlets overlapping.

Re: Dashlets Overlapping
You did not confirm what version of XI you are on, are you on 2014 r2.0? I am as well, and am unable to reproduce this. My alerts dashlet is not taking up more room than it needs, and the alerts spool downward as new ones come in. Now, I do believe that some changes can be made here, maybe a scroll bar in the dashlets iframe so it doesn't make a extremely long dashboard form after multiple alerts occur. I also made sure that I did not intentionally overlap them, I pulled the re-sizing icon on the bottom right of it so it matched up with the dashlets to it's right, and it never tried to over lap.
Re: Dashlets Overlapping
slansing has a good point, your XI version is an important factor here.
Snap-to-grid for the dashlets was new in 2014 release, and with that you're unlikely to get overlap unless you really mean it.

Re: Dashlets Overlapping
Graham_Paul, can you please confirm the version you are on? An update may be all that is needed here.

What browser are you using? I am not seeing this behavior in the latest versions of Chrome or Firefox.
