Monitor running services

I am look for the capability to monitor how long services run and kicks an alert if it is outside the selected parameters. Is thiscapability possible? I’m inquiring on a server service specifically to see if I can be notified if something hangs too long.

I am currently running core but will be migrating over to XI early next year.

There are quite a few different options available here:

Most are process run-time checks, however you could monitor those that tie in with your main service's.
