Why no Nagios core alerts in Fusion OpsCenter view?

Post by vAJ »

Is this due to $$ or functionality?

I stood up a Core instance out in AWS and was hoping to pull active alerts into our OpsScreen that we project in our NOC.

No dice? Bummer.

Are you certain it isn't a firewall issue? Per our Fusion Architecture doc:
In order to allow Nagios Fusion to communicate with remote Nagios XI or Core servers, you may have to open firewall rules to allow
inbound traffic from the Fusion server. This is done by opening TCP port 80 for HTTP or TCP port 143 for HTTPS

Yeah, I can see it in Tactical, just not Operations Center.

What is the OS/architecture of the fused Nagios Core server?

Run the following commands in the CLI on the Nagios Fusion server, and show us the output in code wraps:

Code: Select all

ll /usr/local/nagiosfusion/html/includes/components/nocscreen/
cat /usr/local/nagiosfusion/var/poller.log

I'm fairly certain the Operations Center only functions with XI servers. I was taking a look at the PHP and it seems to only request updates from the prescribed XI back-end URL. We can do some more looking into it on Monday, but that's how it looks right now.

That's what I figured. It's an XI feature, not present in Core, so I half-expected that it would be too good to be true to have that ability come alive for Core instances in Fusion.
