Can't Save Imported Dashboard

Post by 34Bearman »

Imported a Dashboard from the Nagios Exchange. However the Save button in the upper right have corner will not let me save a copy of the Dashboard. Am I missing something?

Can you please provide a link to the dashboard you're trying to import so we can test it.

Here's the link: http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... ng/details

To import I'm in the Dashboard view, click on the Folder icon, Advanced, import file. The Dashboard comes in but won't allow me to save it.

I can see what you are saying as the Save menu is missing the two icons (as per screenshot)

However I can still type something in the Save as... field and press Enter and it does save it (it's just not a global dashboard). After doing this it appears under the Folder icon.

Does typing something and pressing Enter work for you?

I'm thinking the missing buttons in the Save drop down menu from an imported Dashboard could be a bug.

Thanks for your help. I tried typing in a name and hitting Enter and it doesn't work for me. I'm on 2015R1.2b using Firefox on Mac OS X.

FYI: Tested two other browsers this morning:

IE11: Cannot save by hitting Enter.
Firefox 34: Will Save the Dashboard when I hit enter.

Can someone in development please look at this?

Click the "Configure Dashboard", The icon that looks like a gear on the left hand side.

Click "Controls"

Under the "Save to" is Export, Browser and Elasticsearch checked?

If not, select them and see it that fixes the menu.

Hi,

I have confirmed that the save function is not working for IE11 but works for Firefox when we hit entered on the save field.
Wondering is the NLS support able to fix this bug?

Thanks.

I presume you are still referencing saving an imported dashboard? As to your question of can we fix this, absolutely, it's just a matter of confirming, then finding, then resolving the bug.

We are currently piloting an instance of Log Server and have also seen this issue.

In Safari 8.0.3 when we import a dashboard the save icon is greyed out, and the icons to save are missing from the drop down next to the save icon. Hitting enter does nothing.

In Firefox (36.0.1 tested) visually it is the same, the save icon is greyed out, and the save icons are missing from the drop down, however hitting enter will save the dashboard for the current user. However the only way to make it global is to then re-open from the list of dashboards and do a 'Save As' process, then go and delete the originally imported one.
