Post by sh.shekhar89 »

Hi All,

I need to filter notification alerts from nagios.the warning should not go to a contact group but only critical and recovery mail should go. but for all other contact groups they will get the notification.

can we implement this?

If it's a single contact group, you could change the alert settings for warnings on those contacts specifically. However, if you wish to receive warnings through them elsewhere, you will probably want to duplicate those contacts under a different name for this special case, and put them in their own special contact group. Do you understand what I mean?

Contact "groups" do not give the solution you are after. Groups are just an easy way of sending notifications to a bunch of contacts and being able to change who those contacts are just by updating the contact group membership.

What Slansing is saying, to do what you want you are going to need to create contacts specifically for that purpose. Those contacts can have just the critical and recovery options set. So you end up with two contacts, both with the same email addresses but with different notification options.

Does this make sense?
