hostgroup monitoring

Post by Iain »

Apologies for the noob question but I'm not a Nagios user, just trying to achieve something through our Operations team.

We monitor a parameter via SNMP, I'm not interested when one device exceeds a threshold, I want to know when all devices within a defined group exceed the threshold. Is that easy to achieve? What functionality should I point them at?

Cheers,
Iain.

Take a look at BPI:

It does exactly what you want.

Yet another case where I think BPI should be part of core, not an add-on. So many people waste so much time trying to figure out how to do what BPI does.
