Deleting Old Backups

Post by MSPk »

Hi Team,

We have situation with the size of our backup files on Nagios XI where in 70% of the allocated space on root(/) is filled with backups. Please suggest if we can delete these backups(daily, weekly,.. for all DB's) permanently after taking one full back? or do you suggest we keep these backups.

It is honestly up to you, I tend to take backups when I reach milestones, as well as weekly, then I ship them off of the local system in case that drive fails. That way, I can either pull a milestone configuration backup, or a weekly one. It's all down to how you view your compliance levels, and if that is not an issue in your environment, how you want to hold the backups, and for how long.
