We have 2 different networks in Amazon (AWS) and both are in same IP range (10.0.0.0) . I want to purchase Nagios XI satandard edition and monitor these 2 networks. I think the solution is to create 2 NAT and map IP address to IP range (e.g A) and IP range (e.g. B) .
Can you help me and tell if it is going to work at all and also how I can define it on Nagios server.
No I can not . That is the problem. I am thinking of using something like Hamachi . but don`t know how to set it up on linux without GUI . I don`t know even it would be compatible or not.
So what you are actually looking at is a vLan solution, that should help you in your research. You could also set up another Nagios server in a network where you can reach those systems, then have it do the checking, and forward back to your local XI system.
Thanks for the reply. my problem is that both networks are in the same range of IP addresses . if I use VLAN ...do you have solution for same IP address that Nagios can be able to recognize and seperate internal and external IP addresses...
I'm having a similar issue to monitor our layer 2 network, where I cannot use vlans, so we are planning to use a physical machine with two network cards and install mod gearman on it.
