Batch edits of Hosts and Services

Post by SavaSC »

Hello,

I have found that many of our Hosts and Services are not configured correctly. Is there a way to edit a large batch of items at the same time? For instance, is there a way for me to turn off flapping notifications for a group of Hosts without going to each one individually?

[EDIT] I should clarify. I figure I can use templates to change things like flapping notifications. How about group membership or being associated to a service? [EDIT]

Thanks for your assistance.

The bulk modifications tool should be able to do most of this (with the exception of changing $ARGn$ values and commands). If you have enterprise, you will find the tool located at: Configure --> CCM --> Tools --> Bulk Modifications.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have the Enterprise version. *sigh* Guess it's back to the old fashioned way.

Depending on your SQL skillz, you could run a few queries to the nagiosql database . . .
also, if you have not "trialed" enterprise on your server yet, you could enable the trial to gain access at the bulk tool (and any other enterprise features) for 60 days, after which it will revert to the standard (non-enterprise version). During those 60 days you could push to purchase enterprise, it is pretty cheap, contact sales for more info.
