New Installation

Post by mmcclelland »

Hello,

I have recently downloaded the latest version of Nagios XI and am having some issues getting the VM (using VMPlayer) to get an IP address. I can get far enough into it to change the initial passwords, but when I try to check the IP address using IFCONFIG, there is no IP address listed, except for the 127.0.0.1 IP.

If anyone could provide some assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Michael

Is this on a pre-configured VM from our site? That is already set up for DHCP? Or is this your own VM which you ran a source install on? This is a system level issue and not Nagios specifically, we can lend a hand, but you may find an answer quicker by reading up on setting up networking on centos/rhel systems.

It was a preconfigured VM that I downloaded. I was fiddling around with the settings and got it to work, using a NAT on my local PC... so I think I'm good for testing out the product...

I'll let you know if I need anything else.

Thanks.
