Re: Problem with VMware Monitoring Wizard

Hi,

I deleted the old wizard, installed the modified one. I had to change the rights on the getguests.pl:
chown apache.apache /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/configwizards/vmware/scripts/getguests.pl
chmod 755 /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/configwizards/vmware/scripts/getguests.pl
And i still have no services created. Is the link http://support.nagios.com/forum/downloa ... php?id=735 pointing on the correct version ?
Configuration:
Nagios XI 2014R2.5
manually upgraded on 64bits CentOS 6
with nothing extra, no gnome, no proxy, no SSL
Add-ons: Hypermap, Minemap, Ping Action, Traceroute Action, Network Replay, Graph Explorer, Latest Alert

Did the wizard successfully apply the configuration? Perhaps the wizard did not apply configuration due to the fact it doesn't clean the VM names for illegal characters like ' or | . Is it saying configuration successfully applied?

Yes, it behaves like everything is good but is creating nothing.

Does it create a host at all? Have you already created a host at this address before? Either way check for an already created ESX host at this address. If so wipe it and try to re-add the new host.

The host was existing as it was monitored. So i deleted it and recreated it to monitore its VMs.
Now the Wizard prompts configuration errors about illegal characters in the VMs'name.
Correcting the names in the Nagios Core. Everything works !
