GHOST glibc library security vulnerability

Post by RIDS_I2MP »

Hi Team,

We are running our Nagios instances on CentOS and our Admin has highlighted that these servers currently have the glibc version 2.12 which are vulnerable to the glibc ‘GHOST’ vulnerability. In order to resolve this vulnerability they are planning to update the glibc package to the latest version. Could you please confirm if the current version has any dependency with Nagios package and if can go ahead with this update? Also, let us know if any steps need to be carried out before this upgrade.
Thanks & Regards,
I2MP Team.

You can and should update your server with yum to get the latest glibc packages.
