downtime for ALL hosts and services at once?

Post by bowmant »

What is the best way to apply downtime to all hosts and services at once? Or at least a lot of them? We were doing to pretty major maintenance this weekend involving a couple dozen Windows hosts and their services. Instead of applying downtime to all the hosts and services, we just removed the virtual network connection on the Nagios server. Which of course backfired, as when we had everything back up and reconnected the virtual NIC, everything alerted that it had lost contact for the last 3 hours.

So for next time, when we have a large chunk of services going offline, what is the easiest way to handle that in Nagios? We are running Xi 2014r2 and will be applying the new patch soon.

Thanks,

Honestly, you might be able to get away with going to Admin -> Monitoring engine Status, then disabling active and passive checks.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Here is a link to the Mass Schedule Host Downtime Component.

Great, thanks! I downloaded the bulk tool and it seems to do what we need.
