Why network wizard on nagios xi does not scan down interfaces?
Can you elaborate on that? Do you see the down interfaces when you run the wizard? Are you talking about the speed? Can you show us a screenshot of the error?
What is the version of the Nagios XI and the Network Switch / Router wizard that you are currently using?

I think @paulol using standard Network Wizard - Network Switch / Router
It does not show down interfaces (administrative ), because cfgmaker commented it out in temp configuration that cfgmaker does.
Which is correct, I think

@paulol - can you please explain the situation where you need to monitor which is already down?

Also, please explain - down you mean administrative down or just not connected?

The Network Switch / Router wizard should bring all interfaces in whether they are up, down or administratively down, but the check command will always return a Critical if the interface is administrative down state.
If at a later time, the administrative down is removed from an interface, the check will start to test the interface normally.

I dont think it does in that way.
In my setup it does not that - everything that is Admin down - does not show

You will troubles every time to make changes in mrtg cfg to enable or disable interfaces.
Because cfgmaker commenting out the Admin down interfaces by default (I did not changed anything in that part of code).
And having admin down interfaces in red - you need to disable notification/active checks for them.
Also, it will break your reports about services in down and up state.

I need to see when the interface is not connected.

Nagios Network wizard includes the not connected interfaces, it does not include only when interface Administrative down.
