Upgrading from 2014r2.0 to 2.6 with offloaded DB and ndo

Post by BanditBBS »

As the subject reads, I plan on upgrading my prod server from 2014r2.0 to 2.6. It has both the DB and ndo2db offloaded. Anything special I need to do, or just run the upgrade as normal? Anything upgraded for ndo2db between those versions that I need to install on the other server?

Thanks!

p.s. On a side note, the huge migration from a different product to nagios(why I was hired) is complete as of tomorrow...WOOHOO!

Banditt, I believe you had already asked this in this post (and was answered).

Yeah, it was part of the questions in that other thread(if there is an update for ndo2db do I have to manually do it), but here, I'm specifically asking if there were any updates to ndo2db since 2.0.

And since the answer in that other thread to #4 was yes...when it does that, will it break my offloaded ndo2db or will it continue to work and I just need to stop the service when the installer starts it?

Per Scott, there has not been any changes with NDO from 2014r2.0 to 2014r2.6.

There will be a change in the future for NDO. Banditt, be certain to review the change log to see if ndoutil has been changed in the future. And when there is a change to ndo, repeat the steps you took to offload ndo (copy binaries, etc).

Thanks...yeah, trust me, I always read the changelog :) I just wanted to make sure something wasn't missed being put in it....

Go ahead and lock this up.
