logstash stop working

This happens a lot.
Install:
Vmware download ovf file.
install vmware tools.
up and running for 7 days

[root@nagiosls ~]# service logstash status
Logstash Daemon dead but pid file exists

What version of Log Server are you running?

There was a bug that was fixed in 1.3 that would cause this.
