Hi,
I am able to send email notifications if I add the "contact_groups" to the "Host Definition Template" in "templates.cfg" and use that template definition in "Host Definition" (Ex: use linux-server)
But I am having problem in sending emails when I add "contact_groups directly to the Host Definition".
Any help would be appreciated in helping to solve this issue.
Thanks.

Re: Problem with sending Email Notifications
What you're describing could be occurring for a number of reasons.
Can we see the host definition and also the linux-server (or whichever) template definition? Also, is it a service alert or a host alert you're expecting but not receiving?
Also, is this an XI system where you are working in Core, or is this just a Core system?

Re: Problem with sending Email Notifications
Hi jdalrymple,
We have figured out the issue.
All the contact were defined correctly, but we did not define the contact_groups in both host definitions and service definitions.
As there was no host down, we did not see any emails sent out. After adding the contact_groups to service definitions we started to see emails sent out when ever there is a change in service state.
Sorry for the delay in response.
Thanks.

Not a problem. I'll be closing this thread now, but feel free to open another if you need anything in the future!
