I have a lot of objects I need to change some things in for both services and hosts. It is my understanding that XI will not copy these changes from the objects files and will overwrite them. Is there a way that I can change the service and host cfgs and then have XI (for the core configuration section) import the settings from them?
If that isn't possible, if I make configs in Static will they be editable in XI core configuration?
Reason I ask is I have some less experience nagios admins here that I really only want to use XI, but I also want to make changes to configuration files via CCM that are changeable by XI and not separated.
I have a feeling if I do all my config files in static the other admins will have a hard time editing them because they won't be in XI core configuration.

XI can import from configs, but it is somewhat of a manual process:
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios-XI.pdf
The static directory exists specifically so that things will not be present in the CCM but can still be edited by hand.
